EcoPaste Tinting and Mixing Guide

Natural Earth Pigments: up to 15%
Add EcoPaste to water:
For a clear top coat,
1 part EcoPaste / 8 parts water
Or 50 gr. EcoPaste to 400 ml water
125 gr. EcoPaste to 1 liter
4 oz. EcoPaste to 1 quart
For a color wash,
1 part EcoPaste / 10 parts water
Or 50 gr. EcoPaste to 500ml (1/2 liter) water
100 gr. EcoPaste to 1 liter
3.5 oz. EcoPaste to 1 quart

For a more subtle wash, add more water. For a more dense effect use less water.

**Slowly add EcoPaste to the water while stirring to avoid clumps.

Typically applied by brush in a random way. A large color wash brush (brosse a badigeon) is recommended for large areas. While EcoPaste is still wet on EcoPlaster, the plaster can be compressed with a stainless steel trowel for a tighter and harder finish.
For detail work on plaster, use clear EcoPaste as a medium with a palette of dry pigments.
Once mixed in water, EcoPaste has a pot life of one day. Dry EcoPaste can be stored and kept for as long as needed. Once you mix a dry batch of EcoPaste ,(dry EcoPaste + pigment), mix only the amount you can complete in a day with water, and keep the rest dry. EcoPaste and Natural Earth Pigments can be used on concrete overlays or other porous surfaces that need additional translucent layers of color.
